Sure, YouTube is filled with great stuff for kids to view. It’s also packed with videos that, well, aren’t too great
for them to view. How to keep a young surfer on a safe path? Try TotLOL, a monitored front-end to YouTube that offers only G-rated videos for the young ‘uns. It’s free!

i am so addicted to Youtube. I watch mostly music videos and funny videos on Youtube sometimes i also upload my own funny videos in youtube. `
Doesn’t the front page of Youtube always only display G-rated videos? That first page should be OK. Only when you start searching, the nasty stuff shows up. Relevant for me. If my child just checks youtube that is OK. When he starts searching on the site, I’d be more alarmed (as monitored by parental control reports). Thoughts?
Thanks
Bert
Youtube is my favortie site to visit aside from facebook. most of the time i watched movie trailers and music videos on it.
I love youtube but it does have some bad points. Like with illegal material and things.
It is very unfortunate that YouTube refuses to enforce their own rating system. It would be very easy to do: set the default rating to X (or whatever YouTube’s version of X-rated is) thus forcing the uploader to set it to something else (preferably something appropriate). Thus, when one could set his viewing preference for G, let’s say, and be able to report anything one encounters with non-G content. Habitual offenders of the rating system can then identified and permanently banned; and their YouTube content burned. I say if one doesn’t wish to play by the rules, one can play somewhere else! I’ve had to permanently block YouTube here at the house because my little one likes Winnie and Mickey and Toy Story and so on and so forth. Unfortunately the pedophiles and smut peddlers take advantage of this to hide their hateful messages inside innocently-named content to spread their filth far and wide; aided and abetted by lax management at YouTube and the like. Unfortunately, like Chen and his crew, Schmidt/Brin/Page are more concerned about market share than our children’s minds. All that power going to waste on pretty pictures and Paris Hilton sex clips. Sigh.
P.S. TOTLOL has been discontinued in case anyone hadn’t noticed.
Heh, this shit is way too funny. I will share it.
