yogaG requests entries for its Children’s Book Challenge. Contestants are asked to submit a children’s story (target audience: 5-7 year olds) suitable for publication as an illustrated children’s book.

This writing “challenge” is quite unique! Contestants should incorporate the names of yoga poses (listed on the attached posting) and focus on any of the following themes: friendship, bravery, adventure, courage and/or imagination.

Primitive Twig artist, Marcia Finks, has agreed to illustrate the winning submission (www.primitivetwig.com). The published book will include a list of yoga poses found throughout the story, along with visual depictions of the poses, allowing for active reading time where movement and exercise is encouraged.

Proceeds from the sale of the book will benefit yogaG, a 501(c)(3) organization.

yogaG’s mission: uniting the mind, body and spirit through the gift of yoga instruction (and a mat, too) to enhance the healing journey of women and children living in domestic violence shelters.

    See yogaG.org for more details!
